FairCap acquires two providers of underground and industrial electrical equipment from BARTEC with Heuking

A Heuking team led by Benedikt Raisch advised FairCap on the acquisition of two plants from BARTEC group operating in safety-related electrical engineering for underground mining and industry. The acquired sites previously formed BARTEC group’s “Mining” division.

The plants in Menden (Sauerland, asset deal) and Tychy (Poland, share deal) are active in the development and production, trade, and servicing of electrical safety switchgear and in machining technology. The two plants, with a total of some 80 employees, will operate independently under the names EXPROTEC GmbH and EXPROTEC Sp. z o.o. in the future.

BARTEC Group, headquartered in Bad Mergentheim near Würzburg, is the world market leader in explosion protection. The specialists develop innovative products and solutions. The comprehensive product portfolio ranges from complex measurement and analysis technology, innovative thermal engineering solutions to explosion-proof components and systems for automation, control and regulation, as well as communication.

Munich-based FairCap GmbH is an entrepreneurial investment company that acquires medium-sized companies in turnaround situations (carve-out, turnaround, succession) and transforms them holistically into sustainable, healthy organizations. In contrast to typical private equity funds, FairCap is a long-term holding company (evergreen structure), which is not subject to a fund term and can hold investments over the long term. This is already the second transaction this year that FairCap is realizing with Heuking and the team led by Benedikt Raisch.
