Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek starts the new year with new partner joining. Büssemaker new partner at the Munich office

As of January 1, 2014, Dr. Arnold Büssemaker joined Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's Munich office as Equity Partner. After Thomas Schrell in Frankfurt, he is already the second partner joining Heuking Lüer Wojtek in the still young year of 2014.

Büssemaker (46) comes to the firm from Weil, Gotshal & Manges, where he had been working since 2002 and had been a partner in the field of restructuring since 2008. He works at the interface of reorganization and corporate law and will be strengthening both fields at the Munich office.

He specializes in corporate restructuring, distressed debt, distressed real estate and distressed M&A, here focusing in particular on advising financial investors and private equity sponsors. Büssemaker also has extensive experience in the field of cross-border corporate insolvency and in advising on bank restructuring. His clients in the last few years include in particular banks, such as Goldman Sachs, Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers, Barclays or Fortress.

"With his interface experience between restructuring and M&A, Dr. Büssemaker is an outstanding addition to our existing expertise," Dr. Andreas Urban, Managing Partner of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek commented on the new addition.

Prof. Dr. Georg Streit added from the view of the Restructuring Practice Group: "Our team is extraordinarily pleased with the human and professional reinforcement in recent time. With Dr. Arnold Büssemaker in Munich and Thomas Schrell in Frankfurt, we have gained excellently proven peers, who in particular continue to enhance our profile in the area of Anglo-American investors and in the field of advisory services to banks and creditors."
