Heuking Patent Summer School has started
Heuking Patent Summer School 2019 has opened its doors on August 01! This year’s participants are from Japan, Belgium, Italy, and the United Kingdom.
Nullity and infringement proceedings conducted by our lawyers form the basis of this year’s case studies, focusing on highly relevant topics such as the patentability of natural products and the protection of cultural heritage and traditional knowledge.
Attendees will compare cases under different legal systems and present their national patent proceeding principles in a mutually enriching exchange!
In the next four weeks, they will also hear lectures on antitrust law and competition law, legal tech, and artificial intelligence in patent law. As international guest speaker, Mr. Ricardo Dijkstra, Partner at Dutch law firm Vondst, will give a lecture on patent proceedings in The Netherlands on August 19 at 3 pm. We cordially invite you to attend this lecture.
In addition to the professional elements, attendees will also experience cultural aspects. Guided tours through Düsseldorf breweries, the Media Harbor, and the State Parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia will be offered.
Participation in court hearings at Düsseldorf Regional Court and Higher Regional Court, and trips to Brussels and Munich to the German Patent and Trademark Office, the European Patent Office, and the Federal Patent Court enhance the Summer School program.
We are looking forward to an exciting and entertaining four weeks and are happy to welcome all attendees.
