City of Troisdorf: New Shopping Center After Europe-wide Investor Contest
The decision has been made: A new shopping center comprising a sales area of about 8,700 square meters and with an investment volume of about EUR 30 million will be constructed in the center of Troisdorf. With its decision in favor of Hamburg-based investor Procom, the City Council of Troisdorf paved the way for the construction of "Troisdorf-Galerie." Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek provided comprehensive support to the City of Troisdorf in the Europe-wide award procedure with prior competitive tender for the sale of City-owned properties including the obligation to build for the investor.
Procom will construct the shopping center on the City-owned property of the former Bürgerhaus, thus in a prime downtown Troisdorf area. Troisdorf downtown's appeal will be markedly increased by the project. The oscillating lines and the extensive glazing area of the scheduled shopping center also immensely enhance Troisdorf urban development. The scheduled sales areas and the demand-oriented industry mix will sustainably strengthen the position of the City of Troisdorf as secondary center east of the Rhine in the Cologne/Bonn region.
Dr. Ute Jasper, partner, and Barbara von der Recke, attorney, from the Düsseldorf office of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek were responsible for the legal support of the Europe-wide award procedure with prior competitive tender, in particular the designing of the procedure, the drafting of the award documents and the form of the contract.
