Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek provides counsel on first IPO in 2008
Ropal Europe AG was the first company to successfully close an initial public offering in 2008. The company issued a total of 800,000 shares and realized gross IPO proceeds of 6 million euro. German law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek provided legal counsel to the Hamburg-based company specializing in surface coatings and to its investors. "We were involved as transaction counsel to advise on aspects of the IPO under capital market law, including the preparation of the prospectus for Ropal," says Thorsten Kuthe, capital market expert at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek.
The IPO underwritten by VEM Aktienbank AG was clearly oversubscribed. Ropal Europe AG operates in the special coatings market. It developed a worldwide unique coating technology, the Chrome Optics® process, which replaces traditional, environmentally harmful and expensive processes.
