Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek Provides Counsel to ATEC-Weiss GmbH&Co.KG in Takeover by Siemens
At the end of March, the takeover of coupling manufacturer ATEC-Weiss GmbH&Co.KG by Siemens Division Drive Technologies was certified.
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek provided legal counsel to the seller, ATEC-Weiss GmbH&Co.KG, in the transaction.
ATEC-Weiss GmbH&Co.KG, headquartered in Vreden (North-Rhine Westphalia) is an internationally leading manufacturer of maintenance-free all steel couplings. This technology is used in the generation of energy by wind or in the conventional production of electricity and in various industries of general mechanical and plant engineering. With the acquisition, Siemens AG strengthens its position as provider of integrated drive train solutions and gains access to the comprehensive expertise and patent portfolio of ATEC-Weiss.
The purchase price was not disclosed. The implementation of the transaction is subject to the approval by the Federal Cartel Office.

With about 160 employees, ATEC-Weiss is a specialized manufacturer of couplings for mechanical and plant engineering and for wind power generation. ATEC-Weiss has been an approved development and business partner of the Siemens business unit for many years. The previously owner-managed company will be assigned to Siemens business unit Mechanical Drives, headquartered in Bocholt.
