Advising Auer Lighting on the acquisition of 'Technical Sight Glasses' division from Technische Glaswerke IImenau
Auer Lighting GmbH and insolvent Technische Glaswerke Ilmenau GmbH (TGI) agreed on the acquisition of certain assets assigned to the "Technical Sight Glasses" division, including the "llmadur" brand, by Auer Lighting.
A team led by Dr. Jörg Schewe, Partner at the commercial law firm of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, legally advised Auer Lighting on the transaction.
After the transaction has been closed, manufacturing is to be continued in Bad Gandersheim, the headquarters of Auer Lighting. The transaction is expected to be closed in November. The acquisition price was not disclosed.
The acquisition allows Auer Lighting to rapidly expand capacities for the precision treatment of optical glasses. Apart from the further stabilization of the German headquarters of Auer Lighting in Bad Gandersheim, Lower Saxony, a "considerably shortened time to respond to customer requests" is the main motivation behind the deal, said Dr. Dieter Simon, General Manager of Auer Lighting GmbH.
