Advising the combined municipalities of Altenahr and Adenau
Dr. Stephan Witteler, Partner, and Christian Miercke, Lawyer at the commercial law firm of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Frankfurt office, advised the combined municipalities of Altenahr and Adenau in particular on matters of State aid law, public procurement law, and communal services law in connection with the expansion of their broadband infrastructure. The team led by Dr. Stephan Witteler accompanied the combined municipalities’ invitation to bid for the awarding of funds in the form of investment aid by the public sector, in order to provide NGA broadband to the currently underserved areas of the project territory.
The municipality of Altenahr is an administrative unit in the legal form of a local authority in Rhineland-Palatinate’s Ahrweiler district. It covers the district’s central part, with twelve independent local communities belonging to the municipality. The administrative center lies in the eponymous municipality of Altenahr. The municipality has a population of some 11,000 and extends over an area of 153.82 square kilometers.
The municipality of Adenau is an administrative unit in the legal form of a local authority in Rhineland-Palatinate’s Ahrweiler district. The city of Adenau and 36 independent local communities are part of the municipality. The administrative center lies in the eponymous town of Adenau. The municipality has a population of some 13,000 and extends over an area of 257.74 square kilometers.
