HL Display takes over parts of Effekt Grafik Werbeträger with HEUKING

A cross-location HEUKING team led by Cologne partners Dr Philipp Jansen and Dr Pär Johansson has provided legal and tax advice to HL Display on the takeover of the food retail business of Effekt Grafik Werbeträger GmbH & Co KG. As part of the transaction, parts of the assets as well as 46 employees, who will work for the HL subsidiary werba print & display in the future, were taken over. The acquired part of Effekt Grafik's business recently had an annual turnover of EUR 7 million.

Founded in 1954 and operating in more than 70 countries, HL Display is a provider of in-store merchandising and communication solutions in the food retail, branded goods and non-food retail sectors. HL Display is headquartered in Stockholm, Sweden. HL Display has sales companies in 23 countries, which are responsible for 39 countries, and distribution partners operating worldwide. The seven production facilities in Sweden, Poland, Germany, the UK and China handle a variety of industrial processes, including plastic and metal processing, printing and assembling. The company employs around 1,300 people and has a net turnover of 2,300 million Swedish kronor. HL is a wholly owned subsidiary of the listed Swedish group Ratos.

Effekt Grafik is a German provider of printing and display solutions for the retail sector based in Bocholt. With more than 50 years of experience and a full range of services from design and production to installation and after-sales service, the company has built up a loyal customer base.
