EDF Energies Nouvelles acquires wind pipeline of about 300 MW
A team led by Sonja Groht, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Düsseldorf office, supported EDF Energies Nouvelles (EDF EN) in the acquisition of a wind project pipeline of some 300 MW, which is currently under development. ALTUS AG, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Kraftwerke Mainz-Wiesbaden AG, and BinnenWind GmbH are the sellers. ALTUS will continue to play a key role the in project development of the acquired portfolio after the sale. EDF EN and ALTUS intend to establish a long-term partnership.
EDF EN, which specializes in renewable energies, is a member of French EDF group and, with a total installed capacity of 13 GW, a global market leader in electricity generation from renewable energies.
EDF EN strengthens its position in Germany with the acquisition of the ALTUS and BinnenWind portfolio, taking a further step towards achieving its growth target of more than doubling the installed capacity worldwide by 2030.
In addition to the French and the UK market, the German market is EDF EN’s focus of expansion in Europe.
