Heuking advises publicly listed CANCOM SE on its acquisition of DextraData’s systems house business

A team led by Munich-based M&A Partners Boris Dürr and Christian Schild advised CANCOM SE on its acquisition of the systems house unit of DextraData’s IT consulting and solutions (ITCS) business.

CANCOM is taking over DextraData’s entire IT consulting and service business. With 57 employees, the systems house division generated sales of some EUR 35 million in fiscal 2022. Following the sale after 28 years of IT systems house business and managed services, DextraData will now be focusing on its core business of software business applications.

In the ITCS environment, the Essen-based service provider planned and implemented predominantly end-to-end data center infrastructure in on-premises, private, and/or hybrid cloud scenarios in addition to offering managed services. DextraData mainly addressed medium-sized industrial companies, but increasingly also large corporations and public sector clients.

CANCOM SE is one of Germany’s leading IT systems houses with a focus on digital transformation, cloud computing, and IT security. As a hybrid IT integrator and service provider, CANCOM delivers a range of services and solutions that includes business solutions and managed services such as cloud computing, analytics, enterprise mobility, IT security, hosting, and as-a-service offerings. CANCOM group’s range of IT solutions includes consulting, implementation, services, and the management of IT systems, thus the entire spectrum needed by CANCOM’s customers for digital transformation. According to preliminary figures, CANCOM generated sales in excess of EUR 1.5 billion and EBITDA of more than EUR 116 million in fiscal 2023 with over 4,000 employees. The shares are listed on the Regulated Market (Prime Standard) of Frankfurt Stock Exchange and also on SDAX and TecDAX, with a current market capitalization in excess of EUR 1 billion.
