A team led by Cologne-based Private Equity partner Dr. Andreas Lenz advised Munich-based investor Lenbach Equity Opportunities II GmbH & Co KG (“LEO II Fund”) on the sale of Holzwerke Pfarrkirchen to DEBA group, which is also headquartered in Munich.
Holzwerke Pfarrkirchen GmbH is a leading supplier of premium timber construction products with a focus on solid structural timber. The company has operated its production site at Pfarrkirchen since its establishment in 1939.
LEO II Fund has acquired and repositioned companies in special situations since 2019. One of its frequent commitments includes the acquisition of units from listed groups. As such, Holzwerke Pfarrkirchen was acquired by LEO II Fund from Stora Enso group in 2020.
DEBA group has successfully been operating as a property developer, in particular of residential real estate, since the 1960s. Since 2004, the group has focused on developing existing properties. DEBA group considers the acquisition of Holzwerke Pfarrkirchen as a long-term investment in future-proof sustainable building materials at the Pfarrkirchen site.
