Munich-based electronics group Katek acquires bebro electronic and eSystems MTG with Heuking
With a team led by M&A Partner Boris Dürr, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised Primepulse SE and its subsidiary Katek SE on the acquisition of bebro electronic group and eSystems MTG GmbH. The acquisition of bebro and eSystems continues Katek’s expansion as one of Europe’s leading service providers in the electronics sector.
The two newly acquired companies will complement the group combined under the Katek SE umbrella with its existing units Steca Elektronik GmbH, Katek GmbH, and ETL Elektrotechnik Lauter GmbH at the Memmingen, Grassau, and Mauerstetten sites.
bebro electronic GmbH and eSystems MTG GmbH employ 550 people and generate annual revenue of almost EUR 90 million. bebro group operates the classic EMS business at its Frickenhausen and Horni Sucha (Czech Republic) sites with a focus on measurement technology, industry, and medicine. eSystems develops electromobility solutions and systems for automotive manufacturers. This includes, for example, the intelligent charging of electric vehicles as part of Smart Home and Smart Grid solutions.
Internationally operating Katek group is an electronics service provider with locations in Germany and Eastern Europe. Its range of services includes the entire life cycle of electronic assemblies and devices, ranging from development and prototyping to materials and project management, electronics manufacturing, box-building, testing technology, and logistics, to after-sales service. The company employs about 1,750 people.
Katek SE’s parent company is Munich-based Primepulse SE. As a holding company, Primepulse SE specializes in technology-oriented companies in promising markets. The Primepulse portfolio includes topics such as Industry 4.0, Automation, and Internet of Things. With 4,300 employees worldwide, the group generates annual sales of EUR 800 million.
