Municipality of Callenberg gets "fast Internet": Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises on award procedure for broadband Internet coverage

The municipality of Callenberg carried out an award procedure for the comprehensive coverage of its Grumbach, Callenberg, Falken, Langenberg, Langenchursdorf and Meinsberg sections with broadband-capable Internet access.

The objective of the award procedure was to provide reliable and high-capacity broadband access to the previously underserved municipal areas. The invitation to bid was designed in a vendor-neutral and technology-neutral manner in order to achieve the solution best suited to create a comprehensive, forward-looking broadband infrastructure.

The Free State of Saxony supports providing broadband access in the context of the funding regulation "Integrated Rural Development - ILE/2007" the requirements of which were to be taken into account in designing the award procedure.

Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek provided comprehensive advice on the award procedure from planning to carrying out the project and supported the municipality of Callenberg particularly in drafting the award and contract documents, in reviewing and evaluating the offers and in negotiating with the bidders.
