From Sylt to the Hamburg suburbs: Schleswig-Holstein’s municipalities and schools to receive new multifunctional devices
In the next few weeks, numerous schools and municipalities in Schleswig-Holstein will receive new multifunctional devices. Following a Europe-wide invitation to bid, municipal IT service provider Kommunit based in Elmshorn placed an order worth several million with Ricoh for the supply, installation, and operation of state-of-the-art multifunctional devices.
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised Kommunit on the invitation to bid and the contract negotiations.
In addition to price, the selection of the best bidder also considered intuitive operability of the systems, ergonomics, and the potential for future development and adaptation. The market for suppliers who are in a position to not only supply but also operate multifunctional devices on such a large scale is limited. German IT companies offer the corresponding long-term service mostly in cooperation with Asian manufacturers.
