Double reinforcement for the HEUKING capital markets team
HEUKING’s capital markets team welcomes two seasoned professionals to its Frankfurt and Munich offices.
Dr. Andreas Meyer (58) will join the firm’s Frankfurt office as Senior Counsel on April 1, 2025, enhancing the teams led by Dr. Mirko Sickinger, Dr. Thorsten Kuthe, and Boris Dürr.
Meyer has served as in-house counsel at Deutsche Bank AG since 2000, where he led teams overseeing the securities underwriting business from 2005 to 2024. With extensive experience in large-scale and mid-sized capital market transactions, he brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. Meyer is also highly regarded as one of Germany’s leading experts in capital markets law, supported by his numerous and frequent publications in the field. “I am thrilled to join HEUKING, where I can bring my experience to bear from a new perspective,” said Meyer.
“With Andreas Meyer, we are welcoming one of the most distinguished banking lawyers in this area, renowned both nationally and internationally,” said Dr. Mirko Sickinger, Co-Head of HEUKING’s Capital Markets practice group. “Andreas Meyer’s vast experience will significantly contribute to the continued growth and success of our capital markets practice.”
Markus Joachimsthaler (41) joined the teams of Boris Dürr and Dr. Thorsten Kuthe as a Salaried Partner on January 1, 2025, further strengthening the corporate and capital markets law practice at HEUKING’s Munich office.
Joachimsthaler is a Certified Specialist Lawyer in Banking and Capital Markets Law and in Tax Law. He advises clients on all matters of stock corporation and capital markets law, including overseeing general meetings, advising on corporate actions and stock option programs, and ensuring compliance with capital markets regulations. Additionally, he counsels clients on bond financing and digital securities. Joachimsthaler brings valuable expertise from his tenure at Pinsent Masons, where he has advised clients on stock corporation and capital markets law since 2018 and played a key role in several IPOs.
“With these two lateral hires and the recent appointments of internal colleagues from the capital markets practice group, we are consolidating our good position in this segment,” adds Boris Dürr, Managing Partner of the firm.
At the start of the year, HEUKING also promoted an Equity Partner and a Counsel within the capital markets law practice, further demonstrating its commitment to growth in this field.
