HEUKING elects Management
On November 16, 2024, the commercial law firm HEUKING elected a new management team at its partnership meeting. Every three years, the election of the management committee is on the agenda. Boris Dürr, Philip Kempermann and Martin Reufels were elected as Managing Partners for the upcoming term of office. Andreas Urban, who had been on the management team since 2009, Pär Johansson, who had also served multiple terms since 2012, and Johan Schneider, who served on the management team for two terms, are leaving management to devote more time to their client work.
Boris Dürr, Partner at the law firm's Munich office, has been a Partner at HEUKING since 2011 and has been a member of the Management Committee since 2021. His legal practice focuses on corporate, M&A and private equity. Boris Dürr has particular industry expertise in the technology and health care sectors.
Philip Kempermann joined the management committee at the end of 2020 and has also been on the management board for one term. He is based in the Düsseldorf office and has been advising companies on the implementation of complex IT projects and data law for almost twenty years, in particular the introduction of IT systems and the group-wide use and exploitation of (personal) data, as well as on the requirements of the Data Act. He began his career at HEUKING in 2005 as a trainee lawyer.
Martin Reufels has been working at the law firm at the Cologne office since 1996 and was elected to the management team for the first time. He advises companies on restructuring as a specialist lawyer in labor law and international business law.
The new management team is unanimous: “We are one of the leading German law firms and would like to continue and further shape the successful path the firm has taken. With the rapidly changing requirements for competent and comprehensive legal advice, we will continue to evolve our firm consistent with the HEUKING spirit,” says the newly elected management.
The new management thanks colleagues Andreas Urban, Pär Johansson and Johan Schneider for their many years of successful work and the basis they now have. “In particular, Andreas Urban, who has guided the firm's fortunes for so many years and who is particularly responsible for the impressive growth of the firm to over 1,100 employees and a turnover of over EUR 200 million, we would like to express our sincere thanks, combined with the promise to continue the firm's successful path,” said Boris Dürr, who has been a member of the management team for the last three years. “We are taking over a very well-maintained field from our colleagues,” says Martin Reufels from the Cologne office, who is on the management team for the first time. “We will continue the course of digitization that has been started, particularly with the AI initiatives,” adds Philip Kempermann.
