Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek adds lawyer in energy law
As of November 1, 2014, the energy law practice in Hamburg will add a salaried partner, who will also work at the interface to Litigation in addition to Energy Law.
Dr. Marco Garbers (40) joins the firm from RWE Supply & Trading in Essen, where he had been working as lawyer in the field of Market Design & Regulatory Affairs since 2009 and predominantly advised on regulatory topics in the German and European gas and electricity markets in various projects. Previously, he had worked for four years at Linklaters in Berlin in the fields of Energy & Utilities and Dispute Resolution.
Now the Hamburg native returns to his hometown and will support partners Dr. Stefan Bretthauer (Energy/Antitrust) and Dr. Elke Umbeck (Litigation/Arbitration) with his experience in energy law. The Hamburg-based team had been engaged in a wide variety of energy law disputes in recent years (including gas price and gas storage price adjustment procedures, disputes over gas pipelines, offshore wind adjudication procedures) and is continuously working on matters of energy law. "Since increased consulting need is forecast due to the turnaround in energy policy and the increasing regulation of the energy market in the next few years, Dr. Garbers will be a good professional addition," Dr. Elke Umbeck and Dr. Stefan Bretthauer were pleased to note.
