Team around Ute Jasper and Christopher Marx advises Düsseldorf University Hospital on new construction of Corona Center
Düsseldorf University Hospital’s new Corona Center should be ready in just a few weeks, with the foundation on its former parking lot already in place. Aided by a rush application, the team around Dr. Ute Jasper, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek and Head of the Public Sector & Public Procurement Practice Group, and Dr. Christopher Marx, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, supported Düsseldorf University Hospital in the planning and construction of the IMC/ICU Center. The building permit for the new three-story building was approved in April 2020.
“I am very proud that we were able to assist Düsseldorf University Hospital so quickly with the rush application that we drafted and that only three months after approval, the Corona Center foundation is already in place. If everything works according to schedule, the hospital will be able to use the new building in just a few weeks and will be even better positioned for the further course of the pandemic,” said Dr. Ute Jasper.
The new modular building can accommodate some 43 COVID-19 patients on an area of 4,600 square meters. In the coming weeks, heavy-duty trucks will transport 97 modules to the hospital premises. Düsseldorf University Hospital’s concept provides for continued use of the building in the long term, including after the corona pandemic.
