Data Protection in the Insurance Industry
The insurance industry is more dependent on a multitude of personal data than other industries. The understandable request by credit agencies to exchange information on insured persons and to determine risks to be insured via database analyses is opposed by the insurance industry's strict provisions of data protection rules of conduct and by national and European privacy laws. Therefore, as part of internal corporate compliance, appropriate importance should be given to data protection in the insurance industry.
