German Mobility Award for RRX –Jasper/Marx/Westen team designed and accompanied the award procedure
RRX has won the German Mobility Award! This prize, for which 300 companies had applied, is considered a prestigious nationwide award for digital innovations in the mobility sector.
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Jasper/Marx/Westen team designed and accompanied the award procedure. Manufacturer Siemens emphasizes the special nature of RRX, as railroad experts from all over the world want to see RRX on site to view it in operation. Siemens not only manufactures and supplies the trains. It also assumes maintenance and repair of the RRX fleet for the operating cycle of 32 years, a combination of digital networking of train and service depot that is unique in Germany. Maintenance is also facilitated by the fact that essential parts of the drive technology are mounted on the RRX roof and are thus more easily accessible for maintenance. This ensures reduced maintenance time and almost 100% availability of the RRX fleet in operation. The trains are better able to keep their schedules and break down less frequently.
“We are proud to have accompanied this project,” said Ute Jasper, Partner at law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek. “It presented a huge challenge to complete this “mammoth project” so successfully, the result is excellent and a real enrichment for the entire Ruhr region,” added Christopher Marx. “For the first time, the life cycle was implemented, and energy savings in particular were used as an evaluation criterion,” said Laurence Westen.
“This largest local transportation project in Germany opens up entirely new perspectives and the life cycle model can be extended to other areas. In project development, it was important for energy to be considered to strengthen climate-friendly local transportation,” said Ute Jasper, Partner and Head of the Public Sector & Public Procurement Practice Group at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek.
