Heuking is a founding member of the Federal Association of Business Law Firms in Germany
The Federal Association of Business Law Firms (BWD) was founded earlier this week with Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek being one of the new association’s founding members.
Based in Berlin, BWD represents the interests of larger business law firms that operate branch offices in Germany. The association addresses current topics and those that are set to affect law firms in the years to come, such as ESG, digital transformation, and Legal Tech, as well as money laundering and transparency register.
Stefan Rizor, LL.M., currently a lawyer at Osborne Clarke, is the spokesman of the BWD board. The deputy speaker of the board is Prof. Dr. Thomas Wegerich, managing partner of German Law Publisher, which among other things publishes Anwaltspiegel.
From the very beginning, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek has actively accompanied the association’s formation. “We intend to use our membership to contribute to strengthening the perception and image of business law firms,” said Dr. Philip Kempermann, Managing Partner at Heuking. The law firm also hopes that the exchange among members will lead to continued improvement in service quality and the range of services offered by business law firms to their clients.
The association’s mission statement can be found on the BWD website.
