Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises Bolsius International B.V. on the acquisition of the business concern of EIKA GmbH and its subsidiary EIKA Online Shop GmbH
Bolsius International B.V. headquartered in Schijndel, the Netherlands, acquired the business concern of EIKA GmbH and its subsidiary EIKA Online Shop GmbH Nether-lands in an asset deal. Corporate law expert Dr. Jörg aus der Fünten, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's Cologne office, legally advised Bolsius International. The takeover will be performed as of April 1, 2013.
Bolsius International, Europe's market-leading family-owned company in the market for brand and quality candles, generated revenue of about EUR 175 million in the past fiscal year with about 1,000 employees. With manufacturing plants in the Netherlands, Ger-many, England, Denmark and Poland, the company is meanwhile exporting to over 50 countries worldwide.
EIKA GmbH, headquartered in Fulda, established in 1824, is considered one of Europe's leading candle manufactories. The company generated annual revenue in excess of EUR 20 million in fiscal 2012. EIKA had initiated an insolvency procedure in company administration, which now finds a positive solution with the current takeover.
It is an objective of the acquisition by Bolsius to expand the EIKA brand on a long-term basis. This includes securing the Fulda location and the local jobs. The company contin-ues to be managed by general manager Mark Toschek.
