Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises InfraRed Capital Partners on the admission of DWS as a further investor in Deutsche GigaNetz

Led by Frankfurt-based partners Markus Lennartz and Klaus Weinand-Härer, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised InfraRed Capital Partners Ltd. on the addition of DWS as a further investor with a substantial stake, following the establishment of the fibre optic company Deutsche GigaNetz GmbH. This means that the company, which was founded in 2020, is now accompanied and financed by two strong investors on its growth course in the expansion of fibre-optic infrastructure and the operation of networks in Germany.

Both investors are now jointly pursuing the goal of further establishing and accelerating the success of Deutsche Giganetz GmbH on the German market in order to make the company one of the largest providers of fibre optic connections for private households and business customers.  The company aims to supply more than one million households with FttH (fibre-to-the-home), a direct fibre-optic connection to the house or flat, and thus further develop digitalisation in Germany in a sustainable manner.

The transaction has now been approved by the European Commission, so that the joint project can begin.
