Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises MÄURER & WIRTZ on acquisition of Baldessarini fragrance business
Fragrance maker MÄURER & WIRTZ, headquartered at Stolberg, will take over the Baldessarini fragrance business from Procter & Gamble as at January 1, 2012. The formulations, tools and the know-how of Procter & Gamble were acquired in the deal. At the same time, the Baldessarini brands were transferred to Werner Baldessarini from Hugo Boss AG. As sole license holder, MÄURER & WIRTZ will include this premium brand in its own portfolio in selective distribution.
Dominik Eickemeier, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Cologne, provided legal advice on the transaction, led by Roland Breuer, MÄURER & WIRTZ's Head of the Legal Department. They already successfully collaborated on the acquisition of the 4711 business, which MÄURER & WIRTZ had acquired from Procter & Gamble in 2006.
MÄURER & WIRTZ has been a long-term client of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, in particular in the areas of intellectual property and employment law.
