Successful execution of the contract to procure an MHS System

The commercial law firm of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek has assisted Gerry’s dnata and IAS Airport Solutions GmbH to successfully negotiate and execute a contract for a material handling system (“MHS”). The MHS is a crucial component of a larger project to establish a new import cargo center. As such, this agreement represents a significant investment in the air cargo sector in Pakistan and underpins Gerry’s dnata’s position as a key aviation partner in the country.

The team led by Dr. Stephan Witteler, partner at the Frankfurt office, advises the Pakistani company on all contractual matters relating to the project. The planned new warehouse will cover an area of 70,000 square feet and will triple Gerry’s dnata’s tonnage handling capacity in Pakistan to more than 350,000 tonnes of cargo.

Gerry’s dnata is a joint venture between Gerry’s and dnata (part of the Emirates group) and the largest ground handler in Pakistan. The partnership commenced in 1993 and now provides the full suite of ground handling services to scheduled and non-scheduled airlines at seven airports across Pakistan including Karachi, Islamabad, Peshawar and Lahore.
