ESSINGER WOHNBAU sells quarter development to Heidenheim Clinic with Heuking
A team led by Dr. Frank Baßler, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Stuttgart office, advised ESSINGER WOHNBAU GmbH on the sale of a service center to Klinikum Heidenheim gGmbH as part of a forward funding deal.
The building complex’s entrance area and first upper floor will house the clinic’s new dialysis area while apartments for clinic employees will be built on the other three floors with completion scheduled for Q1/2024. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
The building is characterized by an innovative wood hybrid construction method and climate concept. Outside the solid building core, significantly less concrete and structural steel will be required in the upper floors compared to conventional construction methods. This also allows for major reduction of gray energy (for production, transport, storage, sale, and disposal), leading to a doubly positive effect on the carbon balance.
ESSINGER WOHNBAU is the winner of the Europe-wide design competition to redevelop the Schlossberg residential area in Heidenheim with an area of about 37,500 square meters for some 350 owner-occupied condominiums and rental apartments and about 7,000 square meters of commercial space. The service center is part of this neighborhood development.
Using its own planning team, ESSINGER WOHNBAU has been one of the leading providers of high-quality residential quarters and office properties for more than 50 years.
