Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises Winfried Gerold on the sale of Gewi regenerative energies to swb CREA
With a team led by Dr. Peter Christian Schmidt, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised Winfried Gerold, the sole shareholder of Gewi regenerative energies, on the sale of all shares to swb CREA GmbH. swb group (formerly Stadtwerke Bremen utilities) intends to further expand its activities in renewable energies with the acquisition of Gewi. Winfried Gerold will remain with the company in an advisory capacity.
Husum-based Gewi regenerative energies was founded in 1998. The company's services cover the entire value chain ranging from securing areas, planning and development, up to construction and operation. Gewi has 45 plants with a capacity of 70 MW.
swb CREA is a subsidiary of Bremen-headquartered swb AG. swb is a provider of energy, drinking water, and telecommunications in Bremen and Bremerhaven and the Northern Germany region. swb group’s activities for regenerative energy generation from wind, biomass, hydropower, and solar energy are pooled in swb CREA.
The sale was performed as part of an auction process, which was structured for Mr. Gerold by Düsseldorf-based MAYLAND AG.
