Joint venture founded: Jungheinrich invests in lithium-ion technology
Jungheinrich AG and Triathlon Holding GmbH established joint venture JT ENERGY Systems GmbH to development, produce, and reprocess lithium-ion battery systems. A team led by Dr. Stefan Duhnkrack, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, advised Jungheinrich comprehensively on establishing the joint venture in Glauchau, Saxony. Jungheinrich holds a 70 percent share and Triathlon a 30 percent share in JT ENERGY Systems, which is expected to create some 100 new jobs at the site in the next few years.
By establishing the joint venture, Jungheinrich and Triathlon are pooling their industry-leading levels of expertise in the field of lithium-ion technology across a wide variety of applications. The aim of the joint venture is for the two companies to expand their production capacities to cover the rapidly increasing demand for lithium-ion battery systems and to further develop their technological leadership in this field. JT ENERGY will supply products to Jungheinrich and Triathlon in the future.
Triathlon Holding GmbH, based in 90602 Pyrbaum, manufactures lead-acid batteries and lithium-ion batteries. The batteries are used in electrically powered industrial trucks, electric pallet trucks, mobile elevating work platforms, and cleaning machines.
