Wealthcap acquires energy-efficient “Green City Offices” buildings assisted by Heuking
A team led by Dr. Sönke Görgens, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, advised real asset and investment manager Wealthcap on the acquisition of two energy-efficient office properties in Freiburg from a member of Unmüssig group. The acquisition was made on behalf of a special AIF geared to the needs of churches and foundations.
The two construction phases B and C of the “Green City Offices” complex located on Zollhallenstrasse in Freiburg feature a total of some 5,919 square meters of rental space. Office use is scheduled for about 5,407 square meters, plus about 229 square meters of restaurants and about 204 square meters of storage space. 95 percent of the office properties, which are to be completed in 2022, are leased out. Upon completion of all four construction phases, the buildings in the entire new complex will have the largest vertical vegetation area in Germany to date: some 50,000 evergreen plants such as lavender, rosemary, wood fern, and sage have been planted on the facade, covering about 4,300 square meters. The properties are located near the main train station and a new streetcar line. Important research institutions, the university, and the historic old town can be reached within a few minutes.
