Digitization in the legal department – BUJ course imparts knowledge
For the first time ever, both law and technology are equally covered by a course offered by BUJ (Federal Association of Corporate Counsel): Digital Legal Counsel, an interdisciplinary certificate course, provides information from both fields to corporate counsel. Dr. Philip Kempermann, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, will give a presentation on digital security and data protection.
BUJ offers three courses over five days each – from June 14 to 15 and June 20 to 22, 2018 in Bonn, from September 20 to 21 and September 26 to 28, 2018 in Frankfurt and from November 22 to 23 and November 28 to 30, 2018 in Munich. Three days will be dedicated to the field of law, focusing on digitization along the value chain in the legal context relating to digital security, data protection, and social media. Two days will be spent on IT content: Speakers will explain terms ranging from big data and smart factory to virtual and augmented reality and will give an overview of the basics of digitization as well as an insight into computer science and programming languages.
As a strategic partner of BUJ, Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek is participating in the course and wants to contribute to facilitating the handling of digitization for legal departments. “Digitization and legal tech are important and will become even more relevant in the future. We are therefore committed to drawing the attention of companies to legal innovations and to support them in case of questions,” said Kempermann.
