DMB Dr. Dieter Murmann Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH acquires Messring Group

A team led by Dr. Stefan Duhnkrack, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, advised DMB Dr. Dieter Murmann Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH, Kiel, on the acquisition of Bavarian-based Messring Group. With the August 16 purchase agreement, DMB acquired the crash test technology specialist retroactively as of January 1, 2019. The sellers are the two general managers Robert Weber and Dierk Arp, who will remain general managers of the group. The acquisition of Messring Group is another step in DMB’s diversification and strategic development. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Messring Group, founded in 1968 and headquartered in Krailling near Munich, develops and produces innovative crash test systems and technology for testing active and passive safety systems in vehicles. As the global market leader in these fields, the group includes Messring GmbH in Krailling, Messring Active Safety GmbH in Ingolstadt, and Chongqing Messring Trading Co. Ltd. in Chongqing/China. As part of DMB, Messring will be an independently operating group of companies.

DMB Group now consists of seven portfolio companies with their subsidiaries, which are leaders in their respective markets. In addition to Sauer Compressors Group, the portfolio comprises the SICHERT, FEW, ERICHSEN, PROFILATOR, and DBW ADVANCED FIBER TECHNOLOGIES Groups and now MESSRING Group.

The team led by Duhnkrack accompanied and advised DMB on the acquisition of these companies (with the exception of Sauer Compressors).
