Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises DATAGROUP AG on taking over SAP and application management services from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in Germany
A team led by Dr. Rainer Herschlein from Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek’s Stuttgart office advised DATAGROUP on taking over SAP and application management services from Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) in Germany.
The contracts signed with HPE in July 2016 provide for DATAGROUP to perform defined SAP and application management services for HPE customers. For this purpose, DATAGROUP takes over some 330 IT professionals from HPE. With this acquisition, DATAGROUP strengthens the strategic CORBOX core business segments SAP and application management and considerably expands its market position. Capacity utilization of the employees taken over from HPE is guaranteed by a contractual purchase commitment given by HPE. Sales volumes will gradually decline over the contractual term of five years and four months, with DATAGROUP planning to leverage the resources for sustainable growth in its core segment on a long-term basis.
Pliezhausen-headquartered DATAGROUP AG is a leading German IT service provider. About 1,400 employees at 16 locations in Germany design, implement, and operate IT infrastructures and business applications such as SAP. DATAGROUP is a full service provider and manages over 360,000 IT workstations for medium-sized and large businesses and institutions worldwide. The company was recently recognized as a leader in its sector in Germany by Lünendonk.
DATAGROUP has a long history in acquiring companies and business units. Since its IPO in 2006, DATAGROUP has completed 17 acquisitions, incorporating companies and business units into the group. The company was regularly advised and supported by Dr. Rainer Herschlein and his team on these transactions.
