Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek Advises LEO II Fund on the Acquisition of Eurovision Services SA
An advisory team led by Cologne-based private equity partner Dr. Andreas Lenz has advised Munich-based investor Lenbach Equity Opportunities II. GmbH & Co KG ("LEO II Fund") on the acquisition of Eurovision Services SA, based in Geneva, Madrid, Singapore, Shanghai and Washington.
Eurovision Services orchestrates the global media content value chain with hybrid network capabilities serving sports federations, rights holders and media companies around the world, enabling hundreds of millions of viewers to enjoy high-profile (sports) events. The company has offices in North America, Europe, the Middle East and Asia to provide cross-time zone coordination and 24/7 service availability, and employs approximately 250 people. ES' largest clients include sports federations and rights holders such as UEFA, Formula 1 and the NBA.
LEO II funds acquired Eurovision Services SA from the European Broadcasting Union (EBU). The European Broadcasting Union is an association of public service media broadcasters. As of 2022, it included 112 member organizations from 54 countries and 30 associate members from another 19 countries. It was founded in 1950 and has its administrative headquarters in Geneva.
The LEO II Fund has been active in the acquisition and repositioning of companies since 2019.
