Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises Mackprang on sale of its logistics unit to Trans Service Team
Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advised well-established Hamburg-based Mackprang Group on the sale of its logistics unit to Trans Service Team (TST), a logistics group headquartered at Worms in Germany's Rhineland-Palatine region. With the sale effective October 1, TST, specializing in industrial and manufacturing logistics, acquired contract logistics companies Süderelbe Logistik GmbH, Hamburg, Unisped Logistik GmbH, Hamburg, and CM Eurologistik GmbH, Duisburg, jointly generating annual revenue of about EUR 40 million.
TST's logistics space will be expanded by about 110,000 square meters in the heart of the metropolitan region of Hamburg and on the Logport premises in Duisburg-Rheinhausen. The portfolio includes among others a logistics center opened by Mackprang in the Hamburg industrial and business park Hausbruch in 2010, which at a capacity of 30,000 industrial pallet spaces ranks among the most modern contract logistics halls in Germany. All 330 employees of the Mackprang logistics companies were taken over.
For Mackprang Group, established in Hamburg in 1878, the sale of the three logistics companies is associated with strategic concentration on its core business in the automotive and industrial sectors, according to Dr. Uwe Hautz, CEO of Mackprang Holding GmbH & Co. KG.
Mackprang Holding GmbH & Co. KG was advised by Dr. Stefan Duhnkrack, Partner at Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek's Hamburg office, and his team, which had provided legal advice to Mackprang Group earlier this year on the entry of Hannover Finanz as majority shareholder of Mackprang Group.
