Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises management of RTL subsidiary UFA Sports on sale of shares

A team led by Dr. Andreas Walle, partner at the commercial law firm of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek in Hamburg, advised and represented sports rights agency UFA's management, which is participating in the company, on the sale of all shares to Lagadère Unlimited Germany, the German subsidiary of French media conglomerate Lagardère.The transaction must still be approved by the antitrust authorities.

Hamburg-headquartered UFA Sports was established by RTL and former Sportfive managers in 2008 and markets a wide range of sports. Its best-known activities are centered around soccer, where the UFA Sports portfolio comprises several national and international federations, leagues, and associations, including some from Slovakia and Poland. In addition, UFA markets the rights of FC Barcelona this year. In 2009, the company had concluded a ten-year cooperation contract with FC St. Pauli, a team from Germany's 2nd Bundesliga division.

Dr. Peter Christian Schmidt and Dr. Jörg Schewe advised the management on negotiating the structure of the transaction and on the purchase contract.
