Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek advises Satellite Solutions Worldwide on acquisition of Sat Internet Services

A team led by Dr. Stefan Duhnkrack, Partner at the Hamburg office of law firm Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek, advised Satellite Solutions Worldwide Group plc – now named BigBlu Broadband PLC – on the acquisition of Sat Internet Services GmbH (including its Portuguese subsidiary and Italian-based OpenSky S.r.l.). The acquisition required shareholder approval. The transaction is mainly financed via a GBP 12 million share placement on London Stock Exchange and debt secured in Germany by HSBC.
 
BigBlu Broadband PLC operates regional business units in the UK, France, Germany, Poland, Italy, Spain, Ireland, Norway, and Australia and has customers in 30 countries. The company was founded in 2008 as Satellite Solutions Worldwide.
 
Sat Internet Services GmbH, based in Neustadt am Rübenberge, is a satellite internet provider. Italian-based OpenSky S.r.l. offers satellite broadband connections to companies, public authorities, and end users.
 
In addition to Duhnkrack's team, which advised on German law, WSG network partner firm Shepherd + Wedderburn in Glasgow, supported by PLMJ law firm in Lisbon, was a lead advisor.
