ABN AMRO Energy Transition Fund B.V. invests in Ideematec Group
The Dutch ABN AMRO Energy Transition Fund B.V. agreed with the shareholders and the company on a growth financing investment in the Ideematec Group. A team of Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek led by the Düsseldorf-based partner Dr. Martin Imhof advised ABN AMRO Energy Transition Fund comprehensively on the investment, including corporate, patent and tax aspects. The completion of the transaction is subject to merger control clearance, which is expected shortly.
Headquartered in Bavaria and having international subsidiaries in the United States, Chile, Turkey and the UK, Ideematec is a world leading supplier for key components of solar tracking systems for the installation of photovoltaic modules in solar parks. Ideematec has supplied components for over 2 GW of installed PV systems on six continents. Current flagship projects include the installation of 350 MW in Australia and 250 MW in Jordan. With the investment of ABN AMRO Energy Transition Fund, Ideematec will continue its growth and secure its position as a supplier for leading technology in the global PV market. The growth financing in particular enables Ideematec to further strengthen its presence in the MENA region, Asia and America and to increase its capacity.
ABN AMRO Private Equity is part of the global banking organization ABN AMRO, headquartered in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2018, ABN AMRO Private Equity introduced the Energy Transition Fund with the aim to include growth capital and buyout transactions related to companies which contribute to a low carbon future in its portfolio. Currently, the Energy Transition Fund manages approximately 200 million Euros, investing into companies and projects in the fields of renewable energy, clean mobility, smart infrastructure and energy efficiency. The fund typically makes investments in the range between 10 and 25 million Euros, targeting on companies located in Northwest Europe.
