Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors obtains discontinuation of proceedings at the Federal Cartel Office with Heuking Kühn Lüer Wojtek

The Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors succeeded in having antitrust administration proceedings discontinued, which – among other things – concerned it and all chambers of tax advisors. In its December 3, 2019 decision, the Federal Cartel Office declared binding the chambers’ proposal to implement certain steps for the future operation of what is referred to as the power of attorney database. The Federal Cartel Office’s concerns in relation to competition law were thus successfully dispelled and the proceedings brought to an amicable conclusion. In the decision, the Federal Cartel Office makes no binding legal statement on the facts of the case.

The proceedings related to various aspects of antitrust law, chamber law, tax law, and other fields of law. The Federal Chamber of Tax Advisors was advised and represented by a team led by Dr. Matthias Kühn, LL.M.
